Ada Mae (Stephens) Cooper was the daughter of General Jackson George Washington Stephens (1874-1959) and Dora Mae Spradlin (1881-1924). Father Jackson was born in Isham, Scott Co., TN , her mother Dora in Whitley Co., KY. Both died in Scott Co., TN.
On April 12, 1914 Ada Mae married Banjamin Franklin "Ben" Cooper (1992-1951).
In March of 1932 Ada and Ben moved their family to Parksville, Boyle Co., KY and located on Tennessee Ridge. Her brother Edward Stephens (1910-1996) moved his family to Parksville about the same time. Another brother Ernest Stephens (1916-1981) came to live with Ada and Ben shortly thereafter.
Husband Ben died in 1951. They had been married for 37 years and had 5 children. Both sons, Elbert and Delmus, fought for their country in WWII. Delmus lost his life in France during the Battle of the Bulge.
Ada died in Junction City, Boyle Co., KY in 1974. She was 80 years of age.
