She is born as Jennie in 1911 in Chicago, the seventh of eight children of Andrew Leep and Sarah DeVries, both born in the Netherlands, in the northern province Friesland.

In 1911 Jennie's family Leep emigrated to the former Dutch settlement Cramersburg in the southwestern part of the Canadian south central province Saskatchewan. Her mother Sarah died there in February 1916 at the age of 40 years.

In 1916 Jennie (5 y), her father Andrew Leep (40 y, born in Holland), her siblings Nichola (16 y), Harry (14 y), Jerry (12 y), Tracey (11 y), Edward (9 y), Clara (7 y), all born in the USA, Mary (1 y, born in Saskatchewan) and her grandmother Clara Leep (66 y, born in Holland) were administrated in Maple Creek, about 70 miles southwest of Cramersburg, in the utter southwestern part of the Canadian province Saskatchewan.

Animal diseases, coldness, dust bowls, drought, grasshopper invasions, several successive crop failures and low grain prices caused them to leave Canada and in 1921 the family moved to Shepherd, Yellowstone County, Montana, where the family stayed for about five years. Then they moved to the river city Quincy, seat of Adams County, in the utter western part of Illinois, where they were developing the fertile Mississippi bottoms for garden tracts.

So in 1930 Mary (16 y), her father Andrew Leep (54 y), his wife Katherine (44 y), her brother Edward (22 y), her stepbrothers Nicholas Scheffleer (19 y, Holland), Benjamin (5 y, Montana) and Anthony J (2 y, Montana) lived in Melrose, just southeast of Quincy, Adams County, Illinois.

Jeane Leep married on 28 October 1936 in her residence place Manhattan, Gallatin County, in the southwestern part of Montana at the age of 25 years to the one year older Jake Alberda, born and residing in Manhattan.
Jeanne's brother Oscar ("Harry"), born in 1902, in Chicago too, married in 1928 to Jake's sister Edith, born in 1907 in Holland, Gallatin County.

In 1940 Jeanne (29 y) lived with her husband and farmer Jacob Alberda (29 y) and their children Wayne A (2 y) and Sharon F (0 y) at a rented farm in Holland, Gallatin, Montana. Jacob's parents lived nextdoors to them at an own farm. It's quite likely that Jacob and his family lived at his parental farm.

Jeanne died in 1947 at the age of 63 years, her widower Jake in January 1993 at the age of 82 years.
