Herman(us) Aneweer was born in 1857 or 1859 in Stapelmoor, a village on the banks of the river Ems in Ostfriesland (East Friesland), nowadays a part of the municipality of the city Weener, in the utter northwestern part of Germany, not far away from the Dutch border, son of Herman Anewer and Franckie Speckler.
Herman Anewer married on 12 November 1884 in the city of Hampton, seat of Franklin County, in the northern central part of Iowa to Helena Harms "Lena" Koenen, born in 1867 in Ockenhausen, in Ostfriesland too, Germany.
In 1885 their daughter Florence was born in the tiny community of Chapin, Franklin County, Iowa. On 4 Oct 1886 Harm was born in Chapin. About 1887 was born in Franklin County too daughter Kate, on 20 August 1888 Herman, in 1890 in Chapin Minnie and on 19 February 1893 Jerry, in Chapin too. In 1895 Herman [II] was born in 1895 in Kosuth County, in the utter northern part of Iowa, about 1896 Icko and about 1899 (Lu)sena.
In 1895 the family Aneweer lived in Wesley, Kosuth County, in utter north Iowa, and in 1900 in Marion, Franklin County.
His wife Lena died in 1913 in Dumont, Butler County, in the northeastern central part of Iowa.
In 1920 widower Herman Aneweer (60 y) and his in Iowa born childen Icko (21 y), Jerry (26 y), Herman (23 y) and Senea (20 y) lived in Butler County, Iowa.
Herman died in December 1926 in Bristow, Butler County, at the age of about 69 years. His obituary was in a local newspaper posted on 4 December 1926.
