Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Iona Bell Jarvis Belka, age 88, passed away February 28, 1998, in Bountiful.
Iona was born May 24, 1909, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to James Arthur Jarvis and Altha Estell Warren Jarvis. She married Leon William Belka, December 7, 1929 in Ogden, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple December 7, 1951.
Iona was know and respected for her life long dedication to genealogy work. Iona had a passion for reading, learning and travel. In her earlier years she was involved in local school and neighborhood concerns. She was a member of The Daughters Of Utah Pioneers and a retiree of Deseret Book Company. Iona was faithful in her church callings of primary counselor and ward primary historian. She excelled as a primary and Sunday school teacher.
Funeral services will be held March 7, 1998,at the Cannon Stake Center, 934 West Fremont Ave. (1120 So.). Friends may call at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 North N Street. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
