George w. Burkstresser(Sic) Sr. Formerly of Versailles, MO died in Kansas City Thursday. He was born in Morgan County July 27, 1875 the son of the late Daniel and Elizabeth Sheckler Berkstresser. He married Nellie Jane Smiley Feb 21, 1904 and she preceded him in death on Sept 26, 1967.
He was a member of the church of God. Survivors include three sons, the Rev Dwight Berkstresser, Crane, MO; George Berkstresser Jr. Barnett; Gregg Berkstresser , Raytown, ; Three daughters Mrs. Lois Russell, Belton; Mrs Rhea Goetze, Stover; Mrs Maude Sousley, Belton; one Brother Omar Berkstresser, Versailles; one sister Mrs Maude Grisier, Marionville, Mo; 25 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1;30p.m. Sunday at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with the Rev Jim McKidden and the Rev. James Allen officiating burial will be in Versailles, Cemetery.
