Stella was born December 1, 1917 in St. Anthony, Idaho the youngest of five children born to Lorenzo and Martha Josephson. Determined to earn a high school diploma, she made her fiancÚ, Lee Stevens wait for several years to make her his wife. They married June 4, 1936 in a Caldwell, Idaho judge's office shortly after her graduation from Wilder High School. They have celebrated 66 years of marriage. As a farmer's wife, Stella assisted Lee on their Wilder farm while raising their two children. Stella and Lee lived in the Wilder area for over 66 years going from a tent shack they first called home to their current home of 55 years. She cherished visits and phone calls from her friends, neighbors, fellow grangers, church members and family. She loved life, helping and serving others as a member of the Fair Acres Ladies Club and Grange. Stella was a member of the Fargo and Pleasant Ridge Granges for over 50 years and was proud to receive her seventh degree membership at the National Grange Convention in Portland, Oregon this past November. Stella will always be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. For many years she prepared wonderful home cooked meals for the thrashing crews and was always praised for her homemade dill pickles, potato salad and wonderful apple pies she would make for community events and farm sales. Stella loved spending time with family and friends camping, fishing and celebrating life through birthday parties, family events and holidays. She was the light of love, life and hope for us all.

I am home in heaven dear ones:
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy
And beauty in this everlasting Light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
