Winnie Cosby Blackstock was born June 26, 1923 in Carl, Georgia and died February 24, 1989 in Clearwater, Florida.
Winnie lived in the Atlanta area most of her life. She met her husband, William Sanford Blackstock, when they both were employed by Delta Airlines in Atlanta.
Winnie worked for the Social Security Administration many years, retiring as an Operations Analyst in 1980. Winnie and Sanford moved from Atlanta to the Clearwater area in 1968, after Sanford retired from the U. S. Navy.
She is survived by her husband; son, William S., Jr. (Bill); daughter, Anna B. Hall (John); two sisters, Doris C. Entreken and A. Louise Jordan; and three grandchildren (Jennifer Owens, Taylor Hall, and Christina Blackstock).
She was an exceptional Navy Wife. She took care of her children, her career, and every aspect of running the household by herself during those long periods of separation every military family endures. And she had a strong, abiding faith in God that showed in every aspect of her life.
