Frances D. (Harrigan) Banks, 89, of Braintree, a retired telephone operator, died April 1 at Life Care Center of the South Shore in Scituate.
Mrs. Banks was an operator for the former New England Telephone Company for nine years and was a typist and clerk for the state for eight years. She retired in 1964.
Born in Boston, she was educated in Scituate. She lived in Braintree and Scituate before moving to Weymouth, where she lived for 25 years. She moved back to Braintree 20 years ago.
Mrs. Banks was a past member of the Nifty Sixties Bowling League. .
Wife of the late Robert J. Banks, she leaves two brothers, John J. Harrigan of Scituate and James L. Harrigan of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Francis of Assisi Church.
Burial was in Saint Francis Xavier Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, Quincy.
