(Bethany Republican-Clipper, Bethany, Mo., Wednesday, Date Unknown)
John Blin was born in Bohemia January 4, 1850, and passed away at the family home near Cainsville, June 7 1934, age 84 years, five months and three days. In the year 1871, he was united in marriage to Barbara Urbin, who passed away Nov. 19 1933. To this union six children were born: Frank preceded his father in death Aug. 23,1913; Joseph of Marion, Iowa; Anna of California; Will of Ridgeway; Mary and Charley of Cainsville, who so tenderly cared for their parents in their declining years. Thirteen grand children also survive.
Mr. and Mrs. Blin came to America May 19, 1877, settling first at St. Joseph, living there five years, then moving to Harrison County near Cainsville, where they spent the remainder of their lives.
Mr. Blin was sick only a few days and bore his suffering patiently until his spirit drifted away. He was of a quiet, unassuming disposition; honest and generous in his dealings; industrious in his habits, and a faithful and devoted father.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, June 8, at the home by the Rev. J.P. Wilson, under the direction of J.E. Johnson, mortician.
"Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," "Going Down the Valley," and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye," were sung by Mrs. Bertha Baker, Frank Booth and Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Johnson. Flower girls were Christina Tomes, Barbara Tomes, Georgia Skroh and Christina Taraba. Pallbearers were Frank Peshek, Chas. Kokesh, Chas. Karsky, Lou Stoklasa, John Taraba and John Lisa. Burial was in the Bohemian Cemetery.
