Alberta D. Nessler Passed away on Jan. 4, 2010. Alberta was a long time Speech teacher for the Sunnyvale and Cupertino school districts and former AAUW and Sunnyvale PTA president. Born in Angels Camp, CA in June 1914 and graduated from Brett Harte High School. She earned degrees in Teaching the Deaf and Speech Language Therapy from San Francisco State and UC Berkeley. Married after WWII the family moved to Sunnyvale in 1958. She enjoyed the arts as a life long Symphony and Opera goer and Docent at the Triton Museum. After retiring she traveled, gardened, enjoyed her hiking and luncheon book clubs and flower arranging classes. She is survived by two sons and a grandson. A Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, Feb. 27th at Church of the Resurrection Chapel in Sunnyvale at 11:00 a.m. Donations to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
