Helen Babinski Campbell, 94, a Spokane resident, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at North Central Care Center in Spokane of causes related to age.

Helen was born March 18, 1906, at Minot, N.D., to Theodore and

Anna Marie Pietrzak Babinski. She moved to Colton as a small child and attended Colton schools, graduating from Colton High School.

She attended Lewis-Clark Normal and St. Joseph's School of Nursing at Lewiston. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital as a registered nurse for many years. She moved to Spokane 40 years ago and worked in homes caring for the infirm.

In her later years, she resided at Delaney and Valley View congregate care and area nursing homes. The family extends gratitude and thanks to North Center Care Center for their expert loving care in her last days.

Survivors include a brother, Eddie Babinski of Clarkston; five children, Virginia Nibler of Spokane, Evelyn Gottlieb of Fernly, Nev., Marlene Campbell of Puyallup, James Campbell of Tacoma and Sylvia Campbell of Tacoma; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers Frank, Stanley and Sylvester Babinski and sisters, Emelia Kuder and Fanny Currin.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Gall Catholic Church in Colton. The Rev. Sean Caulfield of Lewiston, will serve as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Gall Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman.
