Services for Jason Marcus "Mark" Swint, 10, of Springdale, Arkansas, were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 16, at Eastside Baptist Church, Marietta, with Steven Morehead officiating. Interment was in Oswalt Cemetery in rural Love County. Arrangements were directed by Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.
Born March 13, 1995, at Springdale, the son of Tony Martin and Wendy Rea Jacobs Swint, he died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore.
A resident of Springdale all of his life, Mark would have been a fifth grade student at John Tyson Elementary where he had been in the gifted and talented program. He enjoyed baseball, basketball and soccer and was an avid OU fan and Tony Stewart NASCAR fan. Mark also liked playing games on his Playstation 2. He loved the outdoors, fishing, shooting his BB gun and spending time with his Poppy.
Survivors include his parents, Tony and Wendy Swint of the home; a sister, Amy Swint of the home; grandparents, Gene Swint of Leon, Johnny Jacobs of Marietta, and Marilyn and Jim Daniel of Springdale; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother,
Joyce Ann Cranmore Jones ;
Teresa Lynn Jacobs Oliphant ;
cousin, Johnny Earl Oliphant II; step maternal grandfather, Charles Jones; and great-grandparents.
Pallbearers were Jesse Jacobs, Johnny Jacobs, Jr., Jerry Johnson, Eric Satterfield, John Wayne Powers and James Bratcher. Honorary pallbearers were Todd Pierce, Taylor Swint, Joel Swint, Felice Jacobs, Christian Oliphant and all of his Leon friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the John Tyson School Gifted and Talented Program in care of the funeral home.
