William Roscoe Johnston had five sons with his first wife Elsie May Frye: William Lawrence, Lloyd Earl, Raymond, Ralph and Edward Roscoe. Raymond and Ralph were twins who died as infants. They died about seven months apart from separate illnesses. This is according to their death certificates. The family story of them dying in a sledding accident is not correct. According to his death certificate, Lawrence died as a young man from pneumonia. From this first marriage, only Earl and Edward (Roscoe) married and had their own families. William Roscoe Johnston remarried to Maude Almeda Laufer Smith after the death of Elsie May. With her, he had six more children: Maurice, Keith, Melissa, Darwin, Dwight and Freida. WRJ also had 3 children with Laree Smith: Dolores, Melvin and Frank.

Gravesite Details

Grave is unmarked--as is the grave of his wife Elsie May and son William Lawrence. Cemetery records show the family occupying the plots but cannot determine which person is buried in which of the 3 graves assigned to the family.
