John Hargrave, aged 53 years and 6 months and seven days, died at his home in Farmington at 5:20 P.M. Saturday following an illness of pneumonia of ten days duration.
John Hargrave was the son of John and Rachel Jackson Hargrave and had spent practically his entire life in Farmington, Missouri having been born and reared in the community. He was united in marriage to Mariam Bran (the daughter of MacArthur and Sarah Bran), on November 20, 1904: to this union two daughters were born. One, Esther Florence preceded her father in death about two years, the other Corrine, is at home with the wife, who also survives the deceased.
John Hargrave was a blacksmith by trade and had worked at his trade off and on in the shops in Farmington for the past 30 years. The past three years he had been an employee of Isenman & Co. He was an honest and conscientious man and was held in high esteem by all who knew him.
Funeral services were conducted at the family home on Monday afternoon by an Elder of the International Bible Students Association, of St. Louis. The deceased had been a member of this Association for a number of years. Internment was had in the Glenda Cemetery.
When evening shades are falling and we are setting all alone, To our hearts there comes a longing, If dear husband could only come home.
