John Cleaver Burr moved to Lambton County with his father and, it appears, lived until his marriage, in Moore Township. Following his marriage to Sarah Foster, he farmed near Wilkesport in Sombra Township and, at the time of Gordon's birth, lived and farmed the west 1/2 of Lot 14 on Concession 11 in Sombra Township.
Sometime between 1901 and 1911, John and Sarah moved to a home in Sarnia - Lot 60, Concession 9.
When they died (in 1921 and 1924 respectively) funerals were held at the house on Lakeshore Road in Sarnia and then the bodies were transported to Wilkesport Cemetery ( a distance of about 34 km.)for burial.
