Elma E. Garrison, 98, of Farmington, N.M., formerly of Mackeyville, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at her home.
Elma is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil E. Garrison; sons Glen and Dean Garrison; and daughter, Alice Moon.
She is survived by a son, Mahlon (Judy) Garrison; a daughter-in-law, Mary E. Garrison; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Elma was born on Sept. 7, 1915 in Missouri to Lawrence A. and Novella C. Esser. Along with her husband, Cecil, Elma wrote and published many children's books, poems and church pamphlets.
Friends will be received Saturday, Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. until the service.
Service will be at 11 a.m. at Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard.
Burial will be private at Hublerburg Cemetery.
