Shirley Ann Creel, 69, entered into heaven on September 14, 2012. Nana, as she was so lovingly called by her four grandchildren, was first and foremost a child of God who loved her Savior and her ministry as a pastor's wife. She was a faithful member of the Temple Baptist Church where he husband served as pastor since 1985. Mrs. Creel worked in the banking industry for 50 years and was employed the last 26 years by BB&T of Statesboro, whom she lovingly regarded as part of her family. She was the true woman of Proverbs as described in chapter 31, who spent her entire life working and serving her family and others around her. She will be greatly missed by family and friends of this world but heaven became a little sweeter when she arrived. Lord willing many people will be in heaven as a result of her testimony and life especially over these last few years battling Leukemia. After her relationship with the Lord, she loved her family more than herself. She was preceded in death by her parents LP and Lula Overstreet, one sister; Betty Joyner, and two brothers; Bobby and Gary Overstreet.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years as of July 21, 2012, Pastor Jimmy D. Creel of Statesboro; two sons and a daughter-in-law; Tim Creel and Mitch and Sherry Creel ; four grandchildren, Makenna, Shaw, Weston, and Cole all of Warner Robbins; two brothers and sisters-in-law, LP and Odessa Overstreet Jr. and Larry and Leanne Overstreet all of Dade City, Florida; brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law, Jerry and Peggy Creel and Jean and Tom Womble, whom she loved as her own siblings.
