Addison Debanion Boyd, 85, of Savannah, died Saturday, July 13, at Candler Hospital.
He was born in Screven County and was the former owner and operator of Boyds Service Station. He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the U. S. Army in the South Pacific and received many decorations for his distinguished military service, including The Purple Heart and the Distinguished Service Metal. He was a member of the Christ Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Midtown Optimist Club.
Survivors: wife, Sally S. Boyd of Savannah; sons, Lowe Lamar Braddy of Rincon and James Addison Boyd of Savannah; daughter, Janice Ann Ahrens of Savannah; brothers, C. L. Boyd of Macon and I. V. Boyd of Pooler; sister, Jessie Tootle of Baxley; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p. m., Monday, at the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel. Graveside Services: 2:00 p. m., Tuesday, in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Mausoleum.
