DOCTORS' SON, 2, DIES AFTER FALL INTO CESSPOOL
Wareham, July 31
Despite frantic efforts by Drs. Charles S and Elizabeth H Gleason, theri 2-year-old son died today after a fall into a cesspool at the rear of ther home her. The child's mother, a general paractitioner and specialist in anesthesia, gave first aid to her son, Charles Jr., when a neighbor, David Martin, pulled the boy from the cesspool 10 minutes after he was discovered missing from the house at Sawyer and High sts. Mrs. Eleanor Gleason of Brewster and Wareham, socially-prominent grandmother of he victin, reported the child was missing about 10:50a.m. Dr. Elizabeth Gleason sent Sgt. Clifton Keyes to Tobey Hospital for oxygen and soon after the boy's father, a pediatrican, arrived and sent for a pulmotor. Drs. Robert Davis and Samuel Goldfarb arrived with the equipment but it was too late. The boy was pronounced dead on arrival at Toey Hospital.

Dr. Elizabeth Gleason sent Sergeant Clifton Keyes to Tobey Hospital for oxygen and soon after the boy's father, a pediatrican, arrived and sent for a pulmotor. Drs. Robert Davis and Samuel Goldfarb arrived with the equipment but it was too late. The boy was pronounced dead on arrival at Toey Hospital. Dr. Gleason was son of a life-time physician in Wareham by the same name. The younger doctor was a Harvard and Tufts graduate and had years of special trainging as a child specialist. His wife a Fugts Medical School graduate in 1946, was married to him in 1947.

GLEASON FUNERAL
Special to The Standard Times Wareham - Aug. 1
Funeral services for Charles S. Gleason, Jr., 2, who drowned yesterday in a cesspool near his home, were held today at the First Congregational Church. The Rev. Oscar L. Olsen, pastor, officated. Cremation took place at Forest Hills with interment at Center Cemetary, Wareham.
