Birth: 1828

Death: 1890

Jeremiah is named as a s/o Daniel Miller in the publication: COMMEMORATIVE BIOGRAPHICAL ENCYCLOPEDIA OF PENNSYLVANIA, by RUNK & COMPANY, 1896, page 1087. He is also named as a child of Daniel Miller in the Bob Woodside book: MY LIFE AND TOWN, written in 1979, page 181. Jeremiah appeared in the 1850 US PA census records for Upper Paxtang Twp., residing as a laborer in the household of Mary Slate, age 50, who owned realistate valued at $5,800. From family accounts (mother and aunt) it was uncovered that "Jere", as he was referred, was married "before" his marriage to Elizabeth Ossman. The 1860 US PA census record for Dauphin county showed Jeremiah Miller living in the Borough of Millersburg, Upper Paxtang Twp., with his 2nd wife, Elizabeth (Ossman) Miller, and (4) children: John, William, Calvin, and Charles. Calvin was the son to his first wife, whose name is unknown at this time. A domestic by the name of Mary Romberger also lived in the house. Jeremiah's occupation was listed as a farmer, and his estate was valued at $845.00. In the 1870 census records he was residing in Upper Paxtang Township, with the hamlet of Killinger as the closest post office. He listed his occupation as a laborer, with realistate valued at $400.00, and personal property valued at $300.00. He was also found in the 1880 census residing in the same location. Here he listed his occupation again as "laborer". He is buried next to his wife Elizabeth and son William Miller.
