Samuel Berry, Watervliet resident for the last thirty years, died at Samaritan Hospital, Troy, after a long illness. Mr. Berry, who resided at 1416 Third Avenue, was employed for 38 years at the John A. Manning Paper Co., Green Island, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Papermakers. A veteran of World War I, Mr. Berry was a member of Lt. John A. Patten Post, American Legion.

Survivors include his widow, the former Mary S. Conaty; two sisters, Mrs. George Ross of Rochester and Mrs. S. Dukleon of Ireland, and a brother, John J. Berry of Ireland. The funeral was held from Cummings Third Avenue Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Cooper, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
