One State of New Hampshire death record (#3956) for Sarah S. Bartlett, states her date of death as Feb. 22, 1866 at the age of 6 yrs., 1 mo. and 6 days. According to the 1860 U.S. Census information, the name and date on this death record show this should be correct for her sister, Marinda A. Bartlett.
The second State of New Hampshire death record (#3965) for Sarah S. Bartlett, states she died on Aug. 16, 1865 at the age of 5 mo. and 10 days. A tombstone found the East Deering cemetery has a death date that corresponds to this death record.
Both records were signed by Harry D. Locke, Clerk of Deering, and dated March 12, 1906. My conclusion is that it was simply a recording error by Mr. Locke.
