Twila Mae Craig, 83, Atchison, Kansas died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Atchison Hospital. Funeral services will be Friday, September 28, 2012 at 2:30 P.M. at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Cynthia Meyer and Rev. Doug Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 12:30 until 2:30 P.M. at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested the American Heart Association and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.
Twila was born March 21, 1929 in Belvidere, Nebraska the daughter of Lloyd Boyce and raised by her aunt Grace Watson following the death of her mother.
Twila was employed with the Atchison Animal Clinic and Westside Veterinarian Clinic for twenty-five years as a receptionist.
She and Dale Craig were united in marriage on August 15, 1948 in Belleville, Kansas.
Twila was a member of Atchison United Methodist Church, the Methodist Women, Red Hatters, Junior Guild and volunteered for the Amelia House. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, her pets, tending her flowers and was known to always keep a meticulous yard, a lady with a big heart and a big friendly smile, she cherished her time she could spend with her family especially during the holidays.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Craig, Atchison, KS, two sons, Tom (Debra) Craig, Independence, MO, Paul (Carol) Craig, Wildwood, MO, two sisters, Eloise Baker, Marshall, MO, Beth Shipley, Goodyear, AZ, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a half-brother, Don Boyce.
