Jerry A. Churchill, 68, of 750 W. Hickory St. died at 5:47 p.m. Saturday August 11, 2007 at Graham Hospital in Canton. He was born on February 25, 1939 in Fiatt, Ill. to Fred H. and Clara Marie (Vin Camp) Churchill. Surviving is one brother Donald G. (Elda) Churchill of Tamaroa, Ill., two sisters Mary K. (Glen) Medus of Canton and Clara B. Pritchard of Carlinville, six nieces and eight nephews. One sister Alice A. Tessier , and one niece also preceded him in death. He worked for Truax Traer Coal Co. and MSD for several years. He was a US Army veteran and served in the reserves. He was a member of American Legion Post #16 and Canton Elks #626. He had attended Locust Lane United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Cuba High School. Cremation rites have been accorded; there will be no service as he wished. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Fulton County, as Jerry loved animals.
