H. R. Alexander passed away April 22, 1903, about 53 years of age. He worked as a stonemason on the new school being built (South School south of 4th & Mill Streets), coming to Neodesha from Parsons. Mr. Alexander's body was found in the woods at the west end of the stone quarry located in northeast city limits. He was discovered by two stone quarry workers.
H. R. was reported to have a son who had been born in Neodesha about 1880. Both the son and H. R.'s wife currently lived in Parsons, Kansas. He had been boarding at the Commercial Hotel in Neodesha and was being treated for heart trouble for 3 or 4 months.
Mr. Alexander was interred in the Neodesha City Cemetery in the Old Addition in Block 2, Lot 31, in Space 1.
