Mary Lou "Hoppy" Hopkins, age 80 year, of Metairie, La. died at her home on Saturday, October 2, 2004. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law; Betty (Hopkins) Altenborg and John E. Altenborg of Kansas and her God-daughter; Sue Gekker.
She was proceeded in death by her longtime partner; Barbara J. Price earlier this year. She was born March 4, 1924 in Springfield, Il, the daughter of Dr Porter W. Hopkins and Sarah (Kelso) Hopkins.
A resident of New Orleans since 1949, she was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and worked as a stenographer. She served as president of the Woman's Business Owners and a member of the La, Stenomask Reporters Association. She served in the US Coast Guard during World War II.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, on Monday,October 11, 2004 at 2:00 pm. Visitation from 1:30 pm.
Cremated, Ashes given to family
