Florene Chapman, 89, of Russellville died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009 at Creekwood Nursing Facilities.
She was born in Butler County, a daughter of the late Oliver Jefferson Knight and the late Rachel McPherson Knight. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chapman was preceded in death by her husbands, John T. Chapman and P. Raymond Chapman.
Mrs. Chapman retired as a clerk with Houchens. She was a member of the Eastern Star #52 Russellville Chapter and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 15 at 11 a.m. at Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Brother Buddy Crabtree and Brother Joe Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at Young Funeral Home will be held Friday, Aug. 14 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
She is survived by her son, Kenny Chapman and wife Linda of Russellville; her step-son, Douglas Chapman and wife Donna of Owensboro; her daughters, Naomi Wilkins and Arline Chapman both of Russellville; her step-daughters, Jessie Mahan of Owensboro, Carolyn Powell and husband David of Prospect and Debbie and husband Joe of Maryville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren, and 14 step-great-grandchildren.
The family asks that donations be made to the First Baptist Church, Eastern Star #52 or to the charity of your choice.
