GREENVILLE ADVOCATE - 12JUL1906 - MRS. THOMAS F. BANKS PASSES AWAY - WELL KNOWN MULBERRY GROVE LADY DIES AT HER HOME
Mrs. Miranda Bernice Banks, wife of Thomas F. Banks, died at the family home in Mulbery Grove last Saturday, at the age of 61 years, 1 month & 4 days.
Mrs. Banks' maiden name was Brown, she being a daughter of James H. & Nancy Brown. She was born in Mulberry Grove 03Jun1845. She married Thomas F. Banks 27Oct1860, & to them were born 8 children, 2 who died in infancy. Besides the husband, 2 sons, Winfield & James, & 4 daughters, Mmes. Della Boyle & Rose Minor of Mulberry Grove; & Mrs. Kate White & Miss Nellie Banks of St. Louis, survive. One sister, Mrs. Almira A. Glasgow, lives in Mulberry Grove.
Mrs. Banks united with the Mulberry Grove M. E. Church in 1893 & was baptised & received into full membership under the pastorate of Rev. Z. J. Farmer, now of Collinsville.
She was a great sufferer but thru her trials her faith was unshaken. She was a true & devoted wife & mother & a friend to all her acquaintances.
Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at the M. E. Church by Rev. J. E. McCracken, assisted by Rev. C. E. Baker, a former pastor. The interment was in the Mulberry Grove cemetery.
