Ms. Austin established many friendships and aquaintences throughout her life in the Norman area. She was not only a ranch wife and homemaker but worked at the Oklahoma Student Union cafeteria during World War II. She also worked at Allard Cleaners, Hampton's Flowers and was proud of the fact that she was the first employee of Earl's Flowers and Gifts in Norman. Cora was very active with her family throughout her life and was admired and loved by all who knew her. She first crossed the Red River as a child by covered wagon and last crossed it at 75 miles per hour in a new Buick on her recent return from California. Cora Austin was a true Oklahoma pioneer and that spirit and attitude helped her maintain a quality life her entire 102 years. She leaves that legacy for her family who loved this very special lady very much and will miss her every day.
