Roy L. Allaway of Terre Haute and of Jasonville went home to walk the streets of gold and to really worship His Lord and Savior on October 31, 2013.

Born August 28, 1933 in Vigo County, he was the 7th child of Clyde and Radie Allaway and step-son of Ben H. Edmonson all deceased. He married Evelyn "Sis" Allaway on June 11, 1960, who went to her new life in Christ June 4, 2008.

He was a retired trainer and safety supervisor for Peabody Coal and had worked for Public Service Indiana as a sales representative in Terre Haute and Clinton. He was a past Jasonville volunteer fire fighter, past Justice of Peace, editor of Bloomfield Evening World, owner of Jasonville Shoppers guide, worked for Indiana State Highway as a tester, and held other sales jobs and construction work.

He was President of Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship in Terre Haute for some 5 years. He was a member of Jasonville American Legion Post 172, a Hospice volunteer, occasional speaker at churches and centers, Women's Aglow advisor and enjoyed visiting friends and Christians in homes and hospitals. He enjoyed helping people to "cope" with life's problems, and he was active in "Little David" ministry helping homeless boys find success in life, was involved in prison ministry, past member of Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce, past member of Elks, Eagles, and Lions club, and was also a Boy Scout advisor early in his life.

He was also active in American Heart Association and involved with American Cancer Society . He was also a certified emergency medical technician.

Surviving includes two daughters, Patricia LeClercq and husband Earl and Shirley Padgett and husband Phil, 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren, and nephews, nieces, and cousins, and a friend Carolyn.

Two highlights of his life were a trip to Israel and El Shaddai Emmaus Walk, both bringing a closer walk with his Lord.

He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 step-sons, one step-daughter, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers and parents. He leaves you with this thought "To know what is right and not do it is as bad as doing wrong."

A special thanks to Providence Health Care Center and Dr. Karki.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to McMillan Adult Day Care.
