Edmund A. Gleason, 88, of Blandon, passed away April 26, 2012, at ManorCare Health Services in Laureldale.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on November 20, 1923, he was the son of the late Edmund A. and Margaret Gleason. He was the husband of (LIVING) Gleason. They were married 65 years in September 2011.
Ed earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at New York University night school. He was briefly a manufacturing engineer at General Aircraft in Astoria, N.Y., working on the Waco CG-4A, where he met his future wife, Gene. He joined Chance Vought in Bridgeport, Conn., to design the wing jigs for the F4U Corsair. He later worked for 39 years as an engineer and marketing manager at ADT Security Systems in New York, on the 92nd floor of One World Trade Center. After a brief retirement, he last worked at Marine Midland Bank in New York and Buffalo.
Ed enjoyed woodworking, cooking and golf, and showed his great artistic talent in paintings and cabinetry. He was especially skilled in stained glass, including windows made for St. Francis de Sales Church in Robesonia, Pa.
Surviving in addition to his wife are her sister,a son, two grandchildren, and several nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Richard and a sister, Mildred.
Inurnment will be made in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum.
