Louis Henry Bart; b. Dec 13, 1918 in Brandy Camp, PA; bpt. Apr 20, 1919 at Holy Cross Church in Brandy Camp; d. Jan 23, 1984 in Tonawanda, NY; m. Jun 22, 1944 at Holy Cross Church, by Reverend Philip A. Herrmann in Holy Cross Church, to Mary Catherine Tokarcik [TO1.1.2] ; b. Feb 24, 1925 in Crenshaw, PA; d. Nov 01, 1995 at Buffalo, NY. Louie worked in the mines with his father and uncle Narciso after one year at Brockport High School. On Aug 01, 1942 at New Cumberland, PA, he enlisted into the U.S. Army Air Corps. At that time, according to his enlistment card, he completed one year of high school, was 68 inches tall and weighed 144 pounds. While stationed in Romulus, Michigan with the 345th Air Base Squadron 3rd Ferrying Group, he met Mary Catherine, and married her back in Pennsylvania. During World War II, Louis served from May 07, 1945 to Jan 18, 1946 in Algeria, Africa as a supply clerk, received the good conduct and WW II Victory medals. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant on Feb 05, 1946 with a muster out pay of $300, and travel pay of $11.85. He moved to Richmond, Indiana, where he worked for International Harvester until 1951. They lived at 245 South Fourth Street, with Catherine’s uncle, Joseph and his wife, Rena Tokarcik. The family moved back to Brockway, and he and Kay worked for the Brockway Glass Company. In 1952, they removed to Tonawanda, NY, lived in an apartment on Niagara Street, while the Robert Gair Company employed him. In 1955, Louie joined General Motors Foundry Division in Buffalo, NY, and bought the permanent residence at 284 Broad Street in Tonawanda. He was diagnosed with cancer in the summer of 1983, and died in DeGraff Memorial Hospital in North Tonawanda, NY.
