Mrs. Abels was born February 12, 1930 to Mylum and Lucy Wardine Tindoll. She first worked at Wade Harvey's Drug Store on the Kosciusko Court Square. She held the position of the Women's Pre-release Center and later retired from the Mississippi State Penitentiary in Parchman. She loved her work and was an avid reader. She was also a member of Kosciusko First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen L. Abels; and sisters, Johnnie Thompson, Barbara Threet, and Patsy Cummings.
