Russell D. Berry
Russell D. Berry, 46, 8330 Perry Highway, died Friday after an extended illness.
He was born in Conneaut, Ohio, Feb. 14, 1943, a son of Lawrence Berry of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Esther Whitford Berry Bishop of West Palm Beach, Fla.
Mr. Berry worked in the foundry of Bucyrus-Erie Co. as a core operator for about eight years, retiring because of disability.
He had attended the Summit United Methodist Church.
A son, Russell Douglas Berry II, died previously.
In addition to his parents, survivors include a son Dana Michael Berry of Meadville; two daughters, Dawn Renea Berry of Meadville and Paige Marie Berry of McKean; a stepson, Robert Wokulich of Erie; a stepdaughter, Helen Wokulich, Erie; a brother, David L. Berry of Lexington, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Karene) Colton of Alexandria, Va. and Mrs. Christopher (Elizabeth) Davenport of Williams, Ariz.; four stepsisters, Kathy Lacny, Mrs. Robert (Melinda) Bayus, both of Waterford, Marina and Rebecca Berry, both of Erie; five stepbrothers, Peter Wokulich of Cambridge Springs, Michael Wokulich, Paul, Raymond, and Dean Berry, all of Erie; a stepmother, Dorothy Berry of Erie; and his maternal grandmother.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave., Tuesday from 10 a.m. until a service there at 11 a.m.with the Rev. Franklin Bishop, Summit United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Erie County Diabetes Association, 1741 W. 26th St.
