Matilda Estes Butler
Birth: 1843
Death: 1937

Matilda Estes Butler was born in Greene County , Alabama . Her parents were Evans Estes and Emeline Hall Estes. Matilda's paternal grandparents were John and Sarah Estes and her maternal grandparents were John Hall # 8042462 and Elizabeth Anderson Hall #22057674 . Her siblings were Amanda , Dorina R. , Elisha Evans Estes # 41932052 , Tully ( Lida ), Eld, and Benjamin Estes # 41925581 . On October 12, 1874 in Lee County, Mississippi she married James E. Butler . Matilda and James Edward Butler had two children - Luman T. Butler and James Evans Butler (Jim), but Luman evidently didn't survive childhood. After Matilda's husband's death for a time she and her son Jim lived alone in their house . Later "Jim" married Callie Burlenson who brought with her to Matilda's household Mitchell and Barto . Matilda definitely lived to see her first grandchild (Jimmy Butler ) and probably the other grandchildren Tommie and Zera Mae as well before she died.
