Charlie Chester Hurse, son of Samuel O. Hurse and Anna Missouri Cobb Hurse , was born October 19, 1891 in Marietta , Mississippi . " Charley " was a World War I veteran . He married Molly Foy Shumpert in Mississippi . They moved to Texas in December , 1919 and lived in Commerce , Texas area for over 41 years. He was a retired postal worker and farmer as well as member of the Masonic Lodge and Church of Christ . " Charley " and his wife had two children , Leon Hurse and Eva Mae Hurse ( Hardeman) Johnson . He died August 13 , 1960 at the Veterans Hospital in McKinney , Texas .
