Marcia Louraine Trumbo Babbitt, 78, of Lakeland, GA, passed away January 10, 2015 at the Langdale Hospice House after a lengthy illness. She was born March 1, 1936 in Chula, MO to the late Maurice and Lucille Sandy Trumbo. For many years she was an elementary school teacher in San Lucas, CA. Mrs. Babbitt attended Park Avenue Seventh-day Adventist Church in Valdosta, GA and Refuge Temple Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lakeland, GA. Mrs. Babbitt is survived by one sister, Arlene Boettcher of Lakeland, GA; one brother, James Trumbo of Norton, KS; five nephews, Tim and Tema Trumbo of St. Francis, KS, Richard and Carrie Trumbo of Nebraska, Steven Trumbo of Wichita, KS, Andrew and Sherry Boettcher of Gordonsville, TN, Fred Boettcher of Ooltewa, TN; one niece, Roseli and Stewart Cowles of Asheville, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents. A graveside service for Marcia Louraine Trumbo Babbitt will be held Thursday, February 5, 2015 at one p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder, CO. There will be no formal visitation. A memorial service will be held Monday, February 9, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at Park Avenue Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2285 East Park Avenue, Valdosta, GA 31602. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of South Georgia.
