Kearney, Nebraska; Feb 1950:

Rosalie Grams was born Oct. 30, 1873, the daughter of William F. and Anna Grams, Posen, Germany. She passed away in a Lincoln hospital Feb. 25 at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 25 days after suffering with leukemia for almost four years. At the age of 16 she came to this country with her mother and brother, her father having passed away the previous year in 1888(1890), to join elder sister and brother. After a short stay in Heartwell, Nebr., she came to Kearney, Nebr., where she resided for 60 years and was a member of St. James Catholic church until her death. She was united in marriage to Jacob F. Cornelius, Dec 28, 1892(1893), who preceded her in death June 18(19), 1937. To this union were born eight children, three sons and one daughter preceded her in death, one son at the age of 21 years and the others in infancy.
She was a kind and loving mother and her entire life was devoted to the care of her family. She is greatly missed by those she leaves to mourn her passing, a son, Carl, Kearney; three daughters, Miss Dora Cornelius, Lincoln, Mrs. Ella Parr, Beatrice, Miss Margaret Cornelius, Kearney; and one brother, John Grams, Minden; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, Febr. 28, in St. Mary's Cathedral, Lincoln. The Rt. Rev. Monsignor C.J. Riodan, pastor, offered the Requiem High Mass. The children's choir sang. The Rt. Rev. Monsignor H. H. Muenstermann was present in the sanctuary and responded to the prayers at the grave. Pallbarrers were Leonard Thompson, Verne Benson, Frank Gillette, John Buckley, George Eberle and Randolph Mestl. Burial was in the Lincoln Cavalry cemetery. "Peace be with you". Blessed words!
Farewell spoken by Our Lord: Pledge of our eternal rest In the mansions of the blest. "I am the resurrection and the life;
He that believeth in Me although he be dead, shall live;
And everyone that liveth, and believeth in Me
Shall no die forever."
