Ann McAleer, daughter of John McAleer, spademaker of Drumnakilly, Termonmaguirk, Tyrone, Ireland, and his wife Ann Hughes, was born about 1817 and immigrated with her family to New Brunswick in 1823.
Ann McAleer married Patrick Callaghan at St. Malachy's, St. John City, on 12 September 1844; sponsors were Mary Kelly and her brother Edward McElier[sic]. Patick Callaghan was a carriage maker; he and Ann had seven children.
After her husband died in 1867, Ann Callaghan lived with her brother Michael McAleer.
