Cora Morrison worked for her older brother, Lindsay, when he owned the "Beacon" newspaper in West Point, Kentucky - where she learned to set type.
During her life, she wrote lots of poetry and had one book of poetry published that was called "Echo Distance". It tells much of the story of her childhood and life.
Cora married William Aaron Brooks on May 8, 1905. They had two children, a daughter named Esther and another child that died at birth.
Cora and William lived most of their lives on a farm in Crawford County, Indiana where husband, William, taught for many years in the Crawford Schools there. Additionally, he was an insurance agent for 59 years.
Cora died on the same day that they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage together.
