Birth: Feb. 21, 1913
Death: Mar. 8, 1995

Nathaniel (Nat) Cox, who was born in Edmunds, Maine, was 8 years old (almost 9) when his father died. He went to live and work on the dairy farm owned by Henry and Nellie Bunker, according to the April 16, 1930 U.S. Census. By that time Nat was 17. The farm was located on Hancock Point Road in Hancock, Maine. Sometime after 1930 he moved to Hopedale, Massachusetts where his brothers Merrill and Paul lived. He worked as a fireman and boarded at the fire station at first. Later, he was accepted as an apprentice tool and die maker in the Draper Corporation factory. In March 1934 Nat and Doris Daniels met for the first time in Mendon. They started dating soon after they met but they did not get engaged until 1939. They were married in June 1940 and Nathaniel spent much of 1940 and early 1941 building a new home in Mendon where they both lived until they died.
