I only know May from reading her 1948 diary that I purchased at an estate sale after the death of her daughter Cheryl. She was a teacher at a Bellingham school and eventually moved from Bellingham, WA to Seattle. At least during the summer of 1948 she picked berries on Orcas Island. She apparently did not care for her first name (Lillie) and usually referred to herself as May.
Lillie May was born in Goldendale, WA on June 10, 1886 and her parents were Harry Arba Reasoner and Ida Irene Adams. She married Walter W. Smith in 1919 at the age of 31 and had two children, Cheryl (later Bickford) and Don.
Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.
