Martin Francis Carrico, 72, passed away July 7, 1995 at his Indianapolis residence. The son of Ezra G. and Mary Pearl (Canaulty) Carrico, Martin was born February 4, 1923 in Loogootee, Indiana.
A machinist, he worked 42 years, retiring in 1984 from UniRoyal/Indianapolis Rubber Company. An U.S. Army veteran of WW II, he was a charter and life member of Robert E. Linehan American Legion Post 465 and a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Beech Grove.
Friends may call 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. July 9, 1995 at Stirling - Gerber Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Morning prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m. July 10, 1995 at Stirling - Gerber Funeral Home. Fr. Lawrence Voelker will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Name Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Martin is survived by his wife, Alberta "Bert" C. (Baumann) Carrico of Indianapolis; sons, William A. Carrico of Greenwood, Lt. Col. Harold T. Carrico of Woodbridge, VA and Matthew E. Carrico of Indianapolis; daughters, Roberta J. Smithey of Greenwood, Mary F. Hillen of Knightstown, Christina J. Tooley of Wintersville, OH and Margaret "Peggy" J. Carrico-Khonwai of New Castle; brothers, Thomas Carrico, James Carrico and Anthony Carrico all of Indianapolis and Ronald Carrico of Covington, KY; sisters, Vivian Riggs and Phyllis Quillan, both of Indianapolis; 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
