Eleanor Lea Brodersen, 77 died Monday (January 11, 1993) on arrival at Community Hospital in McCook.
She was born August 15, 1915 on the family farm southeast of Harlan, Iowa, to Arthur and Lillian (Spence) Frederickson.
She attended Jackson Township o. 2 rural school and was a 1933 graduate of Harlan High School. She taught in the rural schools.
On August 11, 1935 she married Hans Henry Brodersen at Nebraska City. They farmed near Jacksonville, Iowa until moving to Harlan in 1947 where they owned and operated a feed ad seed store for 15 years.
She was baptized at the age of 15 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville. She was a member of the Priscilla Society of the Congregational Church of Christ and the Immanuel Lutheran Church, both of Harlan.
Preceding her in death were her husband on June 23, 1972; one son, Richard Brodersen, September 20, 1941; and one sister, Ellen Anne Radnich in 1968.
Survivors include Max Brodersen and wife Carol of McCook; one daughter, Margaret Ann Hatcher of Harlan, Iowa; three grandchildren, two step grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Pauley Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa with Pastor Harrison Kline officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery at Harlan.
