| Birth: | Feb. 22, 1933 Natural Bridge Jefferson County New York, USA | | Death: | Mar. 22, 2010 Carthage Jefferson County New York, USA |  Lawrence Neil Smith (02/22/1930-03/22/2010) was born at the Smith homestead just west of Natural Bridge, New York on State Route 3, and about a mile west of where he now lies in rest. He was the only son of Vernon T. and Hope Mealus Smith and brother of Uldene June Smith (see memorial # 14056237). Larry married Elinor May Downing Smith (12/12/1930-03/19/1987) at Saranac Lake, NY on June 19, 1954 and Elva Towne Smith on July 15, 1987 at Niagara Falls, NY. Larry and Elinor had three daughters: Karen Marie, Sharon Lynn and Carol Ann; and seven grandchildren: Dennis, Jr., Stephen, Andie, Erik, Heather, Laura and Ashleigh. He was a retired paper maker, having worked for James River Paper Company (formerly Crown Zellerbach) for more than 40 years. He was an active lifetime member of VFW Post 7227 in Carthage, New York. Larry made his home in Natural Bridge until the time of his death of lung cancer. He is loved and will be missed by his daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his wife of nearly 23 years, Elva, Elva's daughters Vicki & Cathy and their husbands Allen and John, and Elva's grandchildren: Casey, Alex, Heidi and Trevor.
