Franklin Elbert Coble, 61 Nampa, died of natural causes Wednesday at a Boise hospital. He was born Jan. 11, 1917, at Meridian, where he was reared and educated. He served with the Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945. He married Phyllis Weate in 1946 at Boise, and they moved to Nampa. He began working with Pacific Fruit Express shops in 1945 and was foreman of the store department until retiring May 31, 1977. He was a member of the Union Pacific Old Timers Club.

Surviving are his wife of Nampa; a son, David Coble of San Diego; two brothers, John of Nampa, and Chet Coble of Reno, Nev. two sisters, Mrs. Mary Shaw of Bangor, Penn., and Mrs. Irene Fry of Boise; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
