OLD RESIDENT OF ALCONA COUNTY PASSES AWAY
--------
James Dellar, age 76 passed away at his home 80 West 6th Ave., Flint, Mich., following an illness of two weeks. He was born in Dunnville, Canada, Sept. 8, 1855, and came to Jackson county 22 years later where he married Miss Emma Gordon on March 15, 1882, and passed away on his 50 wedding anniversary.

A few years later he moved to Alcona County, where he made his home until 16 years ago when he moved to Flint. He became well known throughout the country through his occupation of farming, lumbering, and run a saw mill and threshing machine for many years until after the death of his oldest son Frank, who was killed March 29, 1912.

Later he moved to Flint, where he worked for the Trogan Laundry for 11 years. Mr. Deller was one of Alcona's oldest pioneers coming here in the early lumbering days when Killmaster was the lumbering center of the county. He came here four weeks ago on a visit and was taken ill and returned to his home where he developed pneumonia, and passed away at 11:30 Sunday evening. The remains was brought to the home of his son, Harry, and services were held Thursday afternoon from the M. E. church in Lincoln.

He is survived by his widow, two sons and one daughter, namely: Wm. R. and Harry J. of Harrisville, and one daughter, Mrs. Henry Wellstead, of Flint, and one brother, Wm. Deller of Gustin Township, and 11 grand children, and a host of friends. He was loved by all who knew him so well for his many kind deeds and lovable disposition. Interment in Lincoln cemetery. Rev. Bailey of Greely, and Rev. Hall of Lincoln, officiating.
