Obituary: Last rites for Joseph Thomas Klemish, 74, Brayton, were held at the Brayton Baptist church Monday afternoon, the Rev. R. Bennington officiating.
Mr. Klemish died unexpectedly and suddenly Thursday evening after consulting with a neighbor about plowing his garden. He was found near his home by a passerby.
Joseph Klemish was born in Audubon county, August 22, 1879, the son of Thomas and Sofia Klemish. He lived his entire lifetime in Audubon township and the Exira-Brayton vicinity.
He was married on September 10, 1913 to Miss Minnie Plate, and to this union five children were born, who survive together with their mother. They are, three sons, Floyd of Omaha, Leon and Eugene of Anita; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Akers, Exira, and Mrs. Thelma Pittman, Denison, Texas.
Also surviving are two brothers, Frank Klemish of Perry, and Edward Klemish of Exira; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Baylor, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada, and Mrs. Otis Preston, Los Angeles, California; and 13 grandchildren.
Music for the services was provided by Elaine Kragelund, Ila Petersen and Dale Pauley, who sang as a trio, 'Face to Face'. Dale Pauley also sang as a solo, 'Leaning on the Everlasting Arms'. Mrs. R. Bennington was organist. Casket bearers were Harry Graham, Louis Pieper, Clair Huff, Joseph F. Vais, Frank Barber and Clarence Johnson. Interment was in the Anita Evergreen cemetery.
