Daughter of Michael Kane and Mary [Hagen] Kane of Ireland. Married @1847 to John Buckley, Jr. [1817-1887] and they immigrated to the United States in 1862. Eventually they came Ripley County, Indiana, into the 1880s, Mary coming to Tippecanoe County to live near her daughter Hannah after John Buckley died in Ripley County. Mary remarried a man named Fitzgibbons for a short period, who also preceded her in death. Mary had five known children; Daniel, Edward, John III, Hannah, Catherine. According to an obit published in the local Courier, Mary died at the age of 80 in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nicholas (Hannah) Prass at 10 o'clock in the evening, after having been an invalid for some time. Mary was described as being an earnest member of St. Boniface Church, and a most worthy woman.
