Funeral services 10:00 a.m, Monday, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, by the Reverend Thomas Mattson. Burial in Lisbon Cemetery. Viewing is from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m, Sunday at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel. Surviving Eleanor is her son Frank and his wife Dorothy of Salem, South Carolina, her daughter Donna and her husband Phil England of Camp Verde, Arizona, six grandchildren: Joan, Jeff, Julie, Joel, Karena, and Amy; fourteen great grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and four step great grandchildren. Preceding Eleanor in death were her parents; three sisters: Helen Emerson, Harriet Kynett, Margaret Capper; a daughter-in-law Pat Carbee, and her husband Frank, who died February 14, 1988. Eleanor was born April 27, 1916 on the Fisher/Rieger Century Farm south of Lisbon. She was the youngest daughter of William and Mamie Fisher Rieger. Eleanor graduated from Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls, and became the first kindergarten teacher in Stanwood. After four years at Stanwood, she took a second grade position in Lisbon in 1946. Eleanor taught for thirty-eight years, retiring in 1980. Eleanor married Frank D. Carbee June 11, 1940 at Lake Okoboji. She was a member of the Lisbon United Methodist Church and was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star. Eleanors passion for life and bubbly personality will be remembered by those who have known her for years. She will be remembered as a dedicated educator, a caring person, and one who loved Lisbon and its people.
